We figured the novelty of meeting up with your friends so you could shut up and watch anime has warn off in two years so we’re mixing it up! WHOA so crazy!

From 7pm-8pm We’ll play games and Chill. If you have a board game or video game you’d like to bring please contact us (staff@animeatlarge.com) with the details.

The anime viewing will start at around 8 PM and go to about 9:30 PM. Still in time to go to bed for school the next day, but just long enough to fit some awesome anime sweetness in there. AWww yeah.

Jules Verne Phantastical Society

This Event is presented by the Jules Verne Phantastical Society and Hosted by the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.-

“A great liner stealing through the vast loneliness of the Atlantic, the sky jeweled with stars, and a thin wind blowing ever colder straight from the ice-fields, tapping its warning of approaching danger on the cozily shuttered portholes of the cabins, causing the lookout man to strain his eyes into the gloom . Inside this floating palace that spring evening in 1912, warmth, lights, the hum of voices, the lilt of a German waltz –– the unheeding sounds of a small world bent on pleasure. Then disaster, swift and overwhelming –– a story of horror unparalleled in the annals of the sea.” -Lucy Duff Gordon

As a memorial to the lives both rescued and lost on Titanic’s ill fated voyage we will be presenting an evening of what happened in their own words.Members of the Jules Verne Phantastical Society and associates will be presenting dramatic readings of newspaper articles, dairies, and testimonies of the people who were involved in this tragedy 100 years ago while wearing period costume.

Join us in remembering their lives.

Even before Titanic was being built, people were building her stories. Every year since, more stories about her are told — stories that claim to be fiction, stories that claim to be fact — and few of them agree. Join the Jules Verne Phantastical Society of Halifax for an exploration of how we build stories, how we change stories, and how we grow stories. Join us for an exploration of how the many different stories of Titanic unfolded through newspapers, and books, and letters.

The Jules Verne Phantastical Society explores an interest in stories, and the way in which stories are crafted. The growth of this story, starting with a science fiction story published in 1898, through fact and fiction during and after the events of 1912, allows us to see the way in which stories are born, both intentionally and unintentionally. Even during the days of that sinking, people were telling and re-telling their own versions of events, to their own purposes, with even H. G. Wells and Charles Dickens lending their voices and opinions.m

Location: The Last Game Store
Time: 730pm for registration, Singles starts at 8pm

Venue Fee: $2
Entry fee for Singles: $4
Entry fee for Doubles: $2 per teammate
Prize Payout: 70% for 1st, 20% for 2nd, 10% for 3rd

The Last Game Store and Ralston Arcade are teaming up to bring you a Street Fighter x Tekken event worthy of Royalty. The dynamic duo will be running a singles tournament and doubles tournament for Street Fighter x Tekken. Both of these ferocious tournaments will test the mettle of even the steeliest competitors. Who will be left standing for the glorious coronation as the King of Spring?

NO GEMS loadouts will be used for both the singles and doubles tournament. This will be a double elimination tournament. Matches are best two of three except for winners final, losers final and grand final which will be best three out of five.

If you are not able to attend the tournament in person, please tune in live at www.twitch.tv/ralstoninstall for all the action. Both tournaments will be streamed live via the Twitch.TV channel. Blow up stream chat and make bets on who will win.

Please not that all venue fees will go directly to the HD capture card fund for Ralston Arcade. This fund will help Ralston Arcade with the costs of upgrading the stream to HD quality.
