Remember the days when you had to blow into your Nintendo to get it to work. Remember how angry that made you, now we just deal with machines that get a magic red circle that just cuts your system and fun off. Well I wish I could still blow into my machine, t…hey dont make machines like they used too, and they sure as hell dont make movies like they used too.
Thrillema is going to be celebrating the good old days by playing one of my favourite childhood films from the 80s THE WIZARD!
The movie that taught you how to get the warp whistle in Super Mario Bros 3, how to mac on a Red Head, and how the Power Glove is so bad.
Expect some Super Mario Bros 3 action to happen before the show.

The Casual Gamers of Halifax are rockin August 15th at the last game store in Halifax. This months addition is a gaming potluck. If you have a legit copy of a game you want to show off this is the time to do it!

We’re going to start y’all off with a few games, but the rest of the stations will be entirely open for everyone to bring their own games! We’ll announce a few systems that will be available, but if this is going to work we really need you guys to bring us the games you want to play! With that said, we have:

Tekken 6 (360) – There has been some interest in… getting a Tekken scene started so we decided to help these guys with some exposure. Try it out if you never played it before and even if you’re not a fan, give it a second chance. You never know, right?

Super Street Fighter IV (360) – Who doesn’t play a little Street Fighter, am I right?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game (NES in the video challenge machine) – Catchy music and jump kicks for everyone!

Shmup station (360) – Deathsmiles, Raiden IV, 1-Up and more! See all the unique shmups local reviewer Serraxor has to show off!

On top of those five games, we’ll have a Super Nintendo, a Nintendo 64 and a Dreamcast set up for people to bring and show off their favourite games. We might even have room for another system so let us know what you want and what you’re bringing!

For those who don’t know how this works or simply would like a refresher, once a month we hit up the Last Gamestore after closing starting at 7pm and hook up all different kinds of systems. This allows us to have a varied playlist, everything from the Atari to the Xbox 360 and we’ve always got a few bonus surprises up our sleeves as well. These events are not to be missed as they feature the most diverse playlist of games you’ll ever see in a public event.

Admission is free. There is a suggested donation of whatever you can spare for the projector bulb fund. We’d also be just as happy if you brought treats in to share, because everyone loves food! If you cannot do either, don’t sweat it, just come on down and have a great time regardless!

Feel free to hit us with as many suggestions as you can (all genres are welcome) We hope to see you on the 11th!

This will be our first meeting of what is (for most of you) officially summer! So instead of watching Anime we’re gonna do something a little more social, play video games!

I am taking requests for what games we would like to play, if no one makes requests then you will all be subject to whatever I come up with! haha! I know that’s not exactly threatening but seriously Requests are awesome

Snacks for sharing are always welcome, cupcakes are the official Anime@Large meeting food of choice but other stuff is welcome too Nuts though, Nuts are NOT welcome. So nothing with nuts in it please.
