So it is that time again A winter meet! I know we’ve made some new friends that I would love to meet! This time, at the suggestion of some girls we are going to do a skating meet at the Emera Oval on the Halifax commons!
Since the weather is getting exceptionally colder Lolita is not required. However if you want to do it remember, long johns and tights should help ward off the cold wonderfully! As always significant others, or friends are welcome.
Skates are available to rent with a valid ID, so if you plan to skate and don’t have your own please remember to bring an ID! If you are bringing skates with you, and are taking transit please remember other peoples safety! Use skate guards, or a sturdy bag to protect others from accidentally being cut. There is no mention on the HRM website about skate sharpening, though I will try to find out just in case anyone hasn’t used their skates in awhile.
Afterword we will be heading to Sweet Hereafter Cheesecake for some yummy treats! There are vegan, gluten-free and Lactose free options available, as well as cupcakes.The menu can be found here: http://www.sweethereafter.ca/
Afterword you are all invited to bring swimsuits to my hotel room so we can go swimming/use the hot tub in celebration of my first swim with my mermaid tail!
For those of you who don’t want to skate, there is a viewing/warming area to hang out together. Also the public skate begins at 1, and ends at 3 for re-surfacing. If everyone decides they want to skate for the full two hours you are welcome to come to the oval near the end of the free skate (or after an hour, however long we will skate) to participate in the later activities.
All Suggestions are welcome. I hope to see everyone again!
